2 Powerball tickets worth $50K sold in N.J.

A pair of Powerball tickets worth of $50,000 were purchased in New Jersey for Wednesday’s lottery drawing.
One was sold at Quik Mart on Knopf Street in Linden in Union County. The other was sold at Welsh Farms on Main Street in Farmingdale in Monmouth County, according to the New Jersey Lottery.
No one across the country hit Wednesday’s $240 million jackpot, pushing the top prize for the next drawing Saturday night to an estimated $260 million with a cash option of $123 million.
There were also no second-prize, $1 million tickets sold for Wednesday’s drawing.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 1, 23, 25, 28 and 61. The Powerball drawn was 13 with a Power Play of 2x.
In addition no one across the country hit the secondary, $10 million jackpot. Those winning numbers were: 14, 35, 43, 48 and 54. The Double Play number drawn was 1.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is valued at an estimated $579 million with a cash option of $276.6 million.
